Magnolia Conifera and Birch wood are known as the two best choices of material for wooden products, especially for disposable wooden cutlery. However, there are some significant differences between them that manufacturers should notice to choose the right one for producing this type of product.

1. Time to grow:

The length of time it takes for a tree to grow for production can vary depending on various factors, i

ncluding the types of wood, the growing conditions, etc. For Birch species, they are found mostly throughout cool regions of the Northern Hemisphere, such as Russia and Canada. Compared to others in that place, the birch tree is considered a fast–growing type of tree that needs about 20 – 30 years for production.

On the other hand, Vietnam is famous for having a tropical monsoon climate which makes it a huge timber export industry. One of the most well–known wooden sources is Magnolia Conifera which is planted widely in the Northern provinces of Vietnam. Magnolia Conifera trees usually need just about 8 to 10 years to grow for production which has made a large number for timber exporting in Vietnam.

2. Color:

Birch wood has a variety of colors, from pale white to reddish-brown or yellow. It is typically straight-grained with a fine and even texture, though some pieces have more of a wavy grain, and others may possess a curl.
In contrast, Magnolia Conifera has a natural white color and does not have so many grains. Therefore, the products made from these trees look all the same. That uniformity also makes the appearance of the whole product more attractive and reliable.

3. Taste and smell:

Birch wood has a light smell and a special flavor similar to maple. Though it is a good choice for smoking meat, not many people prefer it for being the material of cutlery which would influence the taste or smell of the food. Conversely, products made from Magnolia Conifera barely have any smells or tastes. That’s why, in this term, Magnolia Conifera wood is preferable to Birch.

Although both Birch wood and Magnolia Conifera wood have suitable and fitting features for the use of producing wooden cutlery, the differences between them also need to be noticed and considered. As per the comparisons above, Kego decided to choose Magnolia Conifera for the materials for the products owing to its appropriate features as well as its convenience in reaching the sources.
